The December 5th Christmas meeting properly acknowledged the season with a selection of wines to suit a traditional celebratory lunch. Starting with two champagnes, ‘While the palates are fresh’, following advice from a wine specialist. Our hostess rose to the occasion with a selection of delicious and elegant homemade savouries and finished with a plate of sweet treats.
In February we turn to the Greece/Macedonia area. The wines from Greece in particular have come a very long way from "signature" Retsina to producing excellent Xinomavro, Moschofilero, Assyrtiko, Agapi, Liatiko and Malagouzia amongst a lot of others. Lots to look forward to.
